A method and a system for measuring the radio quality of an asynchronous WCDMA network are provided to reduce the cost and manpower required for wireless network quality measurement by measuring and analyzing the quality of a wireless network using the messages reported to a system from UE(User Equipment) in order to maintain handover and QoS(Quality of Service). In order to measure the quality of a wireless network by using an idle UE, a radio quality analyzer requests an MSC to transmit information about the current location of the UE(S201). The MSC sets up a call with the UE through an RNC(Radio Network Controller) and a node B(S203), sends an LCS(Location Service) location notification invoke message to the UE, and receives an associated response(S205). Activating the UE, the MSC transmits a location reporting control message to the RNC(S207). The RNC sends an MC(Measurement Control) message to the UE for radio quality measurement(S209). If a measurement report message is received from the UE, the RNC transmits an MC message to the UE in order to release the measurement order(S211,S213). At this moment, the RNC executes call processing procedures, based on the RRC protocol, with the UE for basic LCS call processing and acquires the longitudinal and latitudinal information of the UE(S215). Also the RNC executes call processing procedures, based on the NBAP protocol, with the node B and acquires the RTT information of an active set(S217). Based on the data collected for radio quality measurement and the information acquired through the call processing procedures, the RNC creates a radio quality measurement result message and transmits it to an OAM server(S219). The OAM(Operation And Management) server transmits the radio quality measurement result message to the radio quality analyzer in real time(S221).
