SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING LOG INFORMATION

A system and a method for managing log information are provided to minimize the log information repeatedly generated for a hot spot in a DBMS(DataBase Management System) and to increase data recovery performance by separately managing information for the hot spot. An input module(410) receives the log information for data update. A control module(420) stores an updated data image based on the received log information in case that a page area including the updated data is the hot spot. The control module manages, and records a hot spot management list including hot spot management information and address information appointing a storage area storing the updated data image to the hot spot management list. A log record generating module(440) generates a log record including the data image before the update based on the log information for the hot spot and not including the updated data image. A log buffer managing module(450) records the generated log data to a log buffer module(460).
