A stroke variable type circuit breaker operating mechanism by a linear actuator is provided to miniaturize a circuit breaker and lower a cost by operating a linear actuator unit according to an optimized actuating stroke form. In a stroke variable type circuit breaker operating mechanism by a linear actuator, a condenser bank(101) has a capacity to perform an operation of a circuit breaker without external power. A condenser charger(102) charges a charge voltage of the condenser bank(101) up to an initial value. A current control switching unit(103) controls a speed of the circuit breaker by controlling the amount of energy fed from the condenser bank(101) to the linear actuator. A linear actuator unit(104) generates a speed variable linear control force for controlling an extinguish chamber(109) of the circuit breaker by the energy controlled by the current switching unit(103). A stroke sensor(105) detects a location of a stroke of an actuator link(110) connecting the linear actuator unit(104) and the extinguish chamber(109) of the circuit breaker. A stroke signal processor(106) transforms a detected signal received from the stroke sensor(105) into a digital signal. The stroke signal processing unit(106) provides location information of a stroke of an actuator unit for deciding a timing to control a direction and the amount of a conductive current of the current control switching unit(103). A current sensor(107) detects the amount of a shutdown current to control a speed pattern of an operation standard of the circuit breaker. A current signal processing unit(108) transforms a detected signal received from the current sensor(107) into a digital signal. The current signal processing unit(108) provides the power control switching unit(103) with the shutdown current amount information for controlling the speed pattern of the operation standard of the circuit breaker.
