Arabidopsis AtLEJ1 gene that negatively regulates on biosynthesis of jasmonic acid and ethlylene and production method of male-sterile plant using the same
An Arabidopsis thaliana AtLEJ1 gene which negatively regulates on biosynthesis of jasmonic acid and ethylene and a production method of a male-sterile plant by using the same gene are provided to improve stability of the male-sterile plant and maintains its male sterility without other maintenance system. The AtLEJ1 gene isolated from Arabidopsis thaliana induces male sterility in plants by negatively regulating on biosynthesis of plant hormones of jasmonic acid and ethylene, has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1, and is amplified by polymerase chain reaction by using primers of SEQ ID NO:2 and SEQ ID NO:3. A transgenic plant is produced by transforming a plant with a recombinant vector containing the AtLEJ1 gene and its fertility is restored by treating the transgenic plant with jasmonic acid or ACC(1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate).
