FIELD: device for reading cutting plotter matching mark printed on surface of carrier for positional matching from surface, for example of sheet together with pattern and(or) symbol whose contour is to be cut out by means of cutting plotter, method for reading matching mark by means of such device.;SUBSTANCE: head of cutting plotter quickly moves to position over zone or near zone where matching mark is printed on carrier ( arranged on supporting plate) in direction X-Y over carrier without extra time due to effective using of data related to position of matching mark stored in data memory in order to print matching mark. Then head slowly moves over carrier in direction X-Y for reliable error-free reading of matching mark printed on carrier by means of optical reading sensor mounted in head.;EFFECT: quick error-free cutting out of contour of pattern or symbols printed on carrier for stamps, placards and so on.;2 cl, 4 dwg
