The invention presents the description of the method of the radiation-chemical modification of the polytetrafluorethylene providing for treatment of the articles made out of the polytetrafluorethylene with the gamma-rays exceeding the temperature of the fusion point of the crystalline phase differing that the block and the film articles are subjected to this radiation and this radiation is conducted at presence of the molecular oxygen, at the oxygen tension of 102 - 1 mmHg. The invention also presents the description of the substance produced by the above indicated method.
