The device has two driver assistance systems (2, 3) and an output unit (4) for transmission of information of one of the system to a driver of the vehicle. A controlling unit (8) is connected with the systems at the input side and with the output unit at the output side and is formed as an information coordinator. The controlling unit is provided for the control of the information which is to be transmitted to the driver. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating a device for assisting driving of a vehicle.
