The method involves switching between two operating modes using a switching unit (G50), where one mode corresponds to a comparison mode and the other mode corresponds to a performance mode. Execution units (G10a, G10b) are connected to an internal bus of a computer system, in the performance mode. One of the units is disconnected from the bus by a switch which is controlled by the changeover switch, when switching between the modes. An independent claim is also included for a device for switching between two operating modes in a computer system.
