The method involves detecting control measure of a control object with a throttle position sensor (4) of a control system, and generating an operating measure such that the control measure coincides with a target value set according to control operating condition. The generated measure is outputted to a throttle actuator (3) for performing a feedback, and a sum of a change is calculated relative to a control deviation obtained from the value and the control measure for a preset time. An abnormality of the sensor is detected according to comparison of the sum and a preset value set in advance. An independent claim is also included for an electronic throttle control apparatus with a throttle position sensor.
