The method involves readjusting supply voltage based on period of operation. Electrical power, with which a light unit (10) is subjected to operation, is kept constant. The electrical power is adjusted over an entire period of operation to a desired value, in which the impressed electrical voltage is readjusted. Suitable electrical power is adjusted during start of operation, and is kept constant over a part of period of operation of the light unit. An independent claim is also included for a system with a light unit including an electroluminescence layer.
