The Safety Evaluation Report for the application filed by Carolina Power and Light Company and North Carolina Eastern Municipal Power Agency for licenses to operate the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2 (Docket Nos. STN 50-400 and STN 50-401) located in Wake County, North Carolina has been prepared by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Subject to favorable resolution of the items discussed in the Safety Evaluation Report, the staff concludes that the plant can be operated by the Carolina Power and Light Company without endangering the health and safety of the public.
