Applicator comprises a flexible substrate with at least a coloring area, which contains an agent for coloring hair; and a flexible substrate with at least one oxidation area, which contains an oxidizing agent. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for color variation of keratin fibers, preferably human hair, comprising moistening the fiber and/or the applicator; inserting a fiber strand into the applicator; folding together the applicator under inclusion of at least a fiber strand, pulling the applicator in longitudinal direction of the fiber strand, rinsing the fiber strand after a considerable time of 5-60 minutes; and (2) a hair treatment kit, comprising at least an applicator and an instruction manual that helps the consumer for color variation of the fiber strands with the help of the applicator.
