The generator has a force inlet unit (12), which is coupled with a brake pedal and a pedal counterforce simulation device. A threaded spindle-nut arrangement has rotatably drivable components that are provided in a housing (16). The simulation device works against a shifting of the force inlet unit in a normal operation situation by using reaction forces developed by rotary drives of the rotatably drivable components of the threaded spindle-nut arrangement. The simulation device remains ineffective during a malfunction of the rotary drives of the threaded spindle-nut arrangement.
