The system has a force detecting unit (6) arranged between a steering column (4) and a steering wheel rim (3) for detecting mechanical forces exerted on a steering gear by a driver, where the steering wheel rims supports steering wheel by a bar . The force detecting unit is coupled with a brake mechanism for braking a motor vehicle such that a braking is produced by a braking device during an impact of mechanical forces on the brake detecting unit.
