Active agent fraction of Rheum species type with high antiviral activity for virus inactivation and disinfection, where the active agent fraction is obtained by extracting dried and ground root samples with methanol; separating lipophilic material from the formed aqueous phase; agitating the purified aqueous phase with ethylacetate; separating the resulting aqueous phase and the combined ethyl acetate phase to a limited number of active substance fractions, by column chromatography; and condensing the active substance fraction with same content spectrum.
