A driver circuit (100) for a half-bridge bi-directional high voltage semiconductor circuit comprises a high side driver to control a bi-directional high side circuit having a negative bias for OFF switching and a low side control driver and an external voltage source with a negative connection to the high side driver. A high side driver switch (108) connects the two of the low side driver switches (110) ON. An independent claim is also included for an additional circuit as above.
