The circuit (1) has an integrated circuit (3) receiving a voltage (UBAT) and comprises a voltage generator (32) for generating another voltage (V5) whose absolute value is less than the former voltage. A low-side switch (43) is provided between a load (71) and a ground terminal (33). A pre-driver (5) selectively switches and turns off the low-side switch. Two over-voltage detection circuits (31, 51) detect a surge of the latter voltage and control the pre-driver to switch off the low-side switch when the voltage is detected as surge.
