A mixer has a wall structure (10) arranged transverse to the direction of flow in a tube. The structure has a set of layers (11) of wave-shaped web materials (12), where the layers lie transverse to the direction of flow. The adjacent layers are formed between the web materials by flowable cells (13). The materials have flow conducting surfaces (14), which are arranged at the web materials so that the surfaces are arranged with the cells at their diverting side and extend in the direction of flow as well as transverse to the direction of flow. An independent claim is also included for an exhaust gas treatment device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine.
