Method for treating fibers comprises contacting the fibers soaked in water with oil-in-water emulsion containing 100 wt.parts of polyorganosiloxane, which exhibits amino alkyl groups with an amine number of at least 0.1 mequivalents/g of polydimethylsiloxane, obtained from a silicon oxide unit, protonation agent, water and at most 5 wt.parts of emulsifying agent. Method for treating fibers comprises contacting the fibers soaked in water with oil-in-water emulsion containing: 100 wt.parts of polyorganosiloxane, which exhibits amino alkyl groups with an amine number of at least 0.1 mequiv./g of polydimethylsiloxane, obtained from a unit of formula R1aR2bSiO(4-a-b/2); protonation agent; water; and at most 5 wt.parts of emulsifying agent. R1optionally halogen substituted with 1-40C alkyl, -OR or -OH; R : optionally halogen substituted with 1-40C alkyl; R2amino alkyl of formula -R3-NR4R5; R31-40C bivalent hydrocarbon; R41-40C monovalent hydrocarbon or H; R5-(R6-NR4)xR4; R6bivalent residue of formula -(CR4R4-)y; x : 0 or 1-40; y : 1 or 2; either a : 0-3; and b : 0-3; or a+b : 1.5-2.5. Where at most 9 mol% of R1 is OH or OR.
