A sealing arrangement for a stator cover ring in a multi-stage gas turbine comprises at least one ring segment (200) with front and rear edges with respect to the hot gas path, with each segment having an outer (216) and a connected inner (210) cover. The outer cover has two grooves (230,232) and the inner cover has hooked parts (212,214) at the front and rear edges to engage with a groove. An elastic seal lies between the axial hook part of an inner cover and the outer cover. An independent claim is also included for a sealing method as above.
