The valve timing adjusting device has an outer circumferential surface of each protrusion (49) of a second toothed wheel (33) provided with a reduced surface section (62,63) which is reduced radially inwards towards a radial center (Q) of the protrusion along a radial line (L) of the second toothed wheel which runs through the radial center of the protrusion so that it has a reduced radial value compared with a radial value of the rest of the outer circumferential face of the protrusion.
