Welting machine comprises a sewing machine body with two needles that are moved by a spindle motor in a vertical direction and form two parallel seams, a yarn guide, a binding device, a cloth feed mechanism, and a flap holding mechanism
The welting machine (10) comprises a sewing machine body with two needles (13), which are moved by a spindle motor in a vertical direction and form two parallel seams, a yarn guide (17) arranged to a front end part of the sewing machine body at a surface in a cloth feed direction to the inlet side of the two needles, a binding device (12) having a base plate part arranged along the cloth feed direction and an elongated plate part upwardly fitted from the base plate part, a cloth feed mechanism downwardly moving a pair of large presses, a flap holding mechanism, and an identification element. The welting machine (10) comprises a sewing machine body with two needles (13), which are moved by a spindle motor in a vertical direction and form two parallel seams, a yarn guide (17) arranged to a front end part of the sewing machine body at a surface in a cloth feed direction to the inlet side of the two needles, a binding device (12) having a base plate part arranged along the cloth feed direction and an elongated plate part upwardly fitted from the base plate part, a cloth feed mechanism downwardly moving a pair of large presses, a flap holding mechanism, an identification element, and an arm element. The needles guide a thread. The binding device is held in the cloth feed direction to the inlet side of the needles, so that it is movable in the vertical direction and places in a downward moving position of a welt cloth on a head-cloth. The presses extend itself in the cloth feed direction at the sides of the binding device placed in the downward moving position. The head-cloth and the welt cloth are led by presses and holders of the head-cloth and the welt cloth placed on a table (11) and by the movement of the presses in the cloth feed direction. The flap holding mechanism holds flap cloth sewing up on the head-cloth and the welt cloth at an upper side of the each press. The identification element is arranged in the cloth feed direction to the inlet side of the needles. The element radiates light from the top of a reflecting surface formed at the upper side of the each presses, when the pair of the presses are moved by the cloth feed mechanism in the cloth feed direction. A position of an end of the flap cloth is determined by identifying the light that is reflected by the reflected surface. A cloth starting position or a cloth ending position is determined by the sewing machine body based on the position of the end of the flap cloth determined from the identification element. The flap cloth is sewed on the head-cloth and the welt cloth. The arm element holds the identification element, so that the identification element is moved to a clamping position at an arm part of the machine body or by the moving position of a path. The arm element has a base end, which is rotatably held at a position in the cloth feed direction to an outlet of the needles and extends itself in the cloth feed direction to the outlet, so it laterally passes in the seam of the needle of the machine body. The identification element is held together with the binding device through the arm element and then the binding device is moved between an operating position, in which a vertical movement are implemented in the cloth feed direction to the inlet, and a stand-by position, which is distant from front end part of the machine body in the cloth feed direction to the inlet of the needle, when the arm element is distorted. The arm element moves the binding device from the operating position in the stand-by position in the vertical direction. The identification element has two identification elements, which are arranged, so that they correspond to the large presses and are held one of the identification elements from the arm element.
