The shape and condition of the teeth of the patient are determined with a portable scanner in a first step and the acquired data transferred by a computer in a second step into a three-dimensional image, which can be already processed if so wished by using the data already present in the memory of the device in a third step. In the fourth step a program is created to be used by the computer controlled manufacturing device.
