The secure clamping of toughened laminated security glass is provided by units having a pair of solid housings [2a,b] with internal bolster plates [4] that are produced in an elastomer material. The bolsters are produced with grooves to form contact segments that make contact with the glass surfaces. The assembly is clamped together by a edge screws.
