A mechanical setting device allows for fine adjustment of one mechanical fixture with respect to another. The mechanical setting device consists of a hexagonal screw whose shank is embraced by two half ball-shells, each having an inner cylindrical thread and outer convex surfaces that interface with matching holes in the surrounding installation.
