For the integration of a laser with a robot, a central beam guide is on an axis (4), with optical deflection into a second axis (5) with the optical system for the working beam. The laser housing (3.2) is mounted directly to a drive, perpendicular to the center of a swing axis (3), so that the laser beam outlet through the two axes are as head axes. A drive for the center axis is connected to the laser housing. The carrier tube for the center axis drive has the guides to carry electrical signals and the process gas.
