The invention relates to the use of one or more dyes derived from Monascus in the production of a coloring agent for an endoscope. It also relates to a composition of histocolorant for an endoscope containing one or more of these members. Field of application: Use of this composition, excited by light at a specific wavelength to emit fluorescence, biologically safe and suitable for endoscopy, for an endoscopic diagnosis to refine the surface forms of light from the digestive tract and other surfaces.
