The pressing of a flat metal blank (1), for producing a pressed part with light curvature, comprises the application of a pressure on the blank edges (11) to draw the blank before realizing the deformation of the blank between a punch (3) and a press die (4). The drawing of the blank is realized by a pressure exerted on the blank edges along a direction situated in the plane of the blank to be pressed and before the punch or the die come into contact with the blank. An independent claim is also included for a press tool for pressing flat metal blanks by this method.
