The device has an opening lever (3) with an opening control for controlling opening of a door having a handle (1). The lever has a vibrating unit (6) controlled to vibrate the lever in case of detection of an obstacle on the opening trajectory of the door, where the unit in the form of an electric motor drives a counterweight in rotation to cause the vibration. The handle has detecting sensors (16, 17) detecting presence of a hand on the lever. An independent claim is also included for a method of warning a user of the presence of an obstacle on an opening trajectory of a door.
