PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heart assisting device for allowing a patient to freely move without being restricted by a large external pumping device, for reducing and recovering chronic cardiac failure. PSOLUTION: This heart assisting device 10 is constituted to be transplanted to the patient 99. The device 10 includes a main artery compressing means 60 constituted to compress the main artery 15 of the patient 99 when operating, a fluid tank 74, and a pump means 71 constituted to at least partially operate the main artery compressing means 60 by an opposite pulsation of a heart of the patient by pushing out fluid by a pump to the main artery compressing means 60 from the fluid tank 74.
