PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner production method which enables production by a simple production method, by neither exposing colorant particles and wax particles on the surface despite of the toner being an aggregate of fine resin-containing particles, nor having a variation in a colorant content and a wax content. PSOLUTION: The toner in the form of the aggregate of resin-containing particles is produced by aggregating the resin-containing particles which contain a binder resin and the colorant using an aggregate dispersant containing a polymer 1 in which anionic polar groups 2a, 2b and 2c are bonded to a main chain 3, and a salt of a divalent or higher valent metal. Specifically, the salt of the divalent or higher valent metal is loaded to a slurry of the resin-containing particles so that a metal ion 4 and the anionic polar group 2a are bonded, and a temperature of the slurry is increased so that a bond between the anionic polar group 2b and a water molecule is broken.
