PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface lubricant distribution evaluation device of a magnetic recording medium, which evaluates a distribution state of a lubricant over the surface of a magnetic recording medium.;SOLUTION: The device for evaluating a distribution of a surface lubricant of a magnetic recording medium (sample 10) configured by applying the lubricant over the most surface of a magnetic layer side of a laminated body formed by laminating at least a magnetic layer on a non-magnetic support medium, has a conductive probe 20 for applying voltage to a lubricant side surface of the sample 10 with a prescribed interval, and evaluates a distribution state of the lubricant on the basis of a surface potential image measured by a measuring instrument for executing a surface potential measuring method using a scanning type probe microscope.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
