PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety in a double hung window, by providing a falling preventive mechanism of the double hung window capable of checking sudden falling of a movable window regardless of loss of tension of a wire.;SOLUTION: This falling preventive mechanism 100 of the double hung window has vertically movably at least one movable window 15 along a groove 33 of a vertical window frame 27, and is provided with a V groove formed in the groove 33 of the vertical window frame 27 and composed of a pair of inclined grooves mutually approaching downward, a pair of movable rotary shafts movably and rotatably supported along the pair of respective inclined grooves of the V groove, a pair of rollers fixed to an end part of the pair of movable rotary shafts and arranged in the groove 33, and an intrusion plate fixed to the movable window 15 and interposingly insertable between the pair of rollers by vertically extending by projecting in the groove 33. The rollers are preferably composed of an elastic material.
