PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability for detecting an abnormality in measurement values of the wind direction/wind speed.;SOLUTION: A wind direction/wind speed meter monitoring apparatus 130 indirectly monitors a behavior of a wind direction/wind speed meter 121 by monitoring a tow sleeve target 131 installed in the same position as the wind direction/wind speed meter 121 or in the position adjacent to the wind direction/wind speed meter 121. The wind direction/wind speed meter monitoring apparatus 130 includes: the tow sleeve target 131 supported by a pole 132; a camera 133 for capturing an image of the tow sleeve target 131; and a second transmitter 134 for transmitting the image taken by the camera 133 to a wind direction/wind speed monitoring apparatus 102. The tow sleeve target 131 is installed in the same position as the wind direction/wind speed meter 121 or in the position adjacent to the wind direction/wind speed meter 121. The wind direction/wind speed monitoring apparatus 102 can approximately obtain the wind direction and the wind speed of the tow sleeve target 131 by using the camera 133 for taking the image of the tow sleeve target 131. The second transmitter 134 converts the encoded taken image (an electrical signal) into an optical signal, and transmits the optical signal to the wind direction/wind speed monitoring apparatus 102 through a second transmission path 112.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
