PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a titanium dioxide-containing polyester fiber that has no heat deterioration, high dispersibility free from reaggregation of titanium dioxide, slight damage of yarn contact part, excellent process passage and further an excellent hue and to provide a method for producing the same.;SOLUTION: The titanium dioxide-containing polyester fiber has a titanium dioxide content of 0.01 wt.%-70 wt.%. The titanium dioxide simultaneously satisfies (a) an average particle diameter of 0.1-0.5 μm, (b) ≤5,000 coarse particles having particle diameters of ≥3 μm/0.4 mg, (c) ≤1,500 coarse particles having particle diameters of ≥4 μm/0.4 mg, (d) 0.10-0.30 wt.% of P2O5 based on the total weight of titanium dioxide, (e) 0.01-0.15 wt.% of K2O, (f) ≤50 ppm of Sb element, (g) the ratio of rutile type/anatase type of ≤9×10-3, (h) a crystal size of 10-150 nm and (i) containing substantially no Fe.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
