PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tuner for musical instruments and an amplifier for musical instruments, capable of tuning a pitch of a musical instrument in a simple configuration.;SOLUTION: In a manual mode, a pitch designated by a rotary switch 12d is selected as a reference pitch. The pitch designated by the rotary switch 12d is stored in a table 10b for guitars of a ROM 10. In an automatic mode, a pitch name of a chromatic scale which is nearest to a detected pitch is selected as the reference pitch. The pitch corresponding to the pitch name of the chromatic scale which is selected as the reference pitch is stored in a chromatic scale table 10a of the ROM 10. A CPU 8 extracts the pitch nearest to the detected pitch from the chromatic table 10a, and sets the pitch as the reference pitch. When the detected pitch is lower than, equals to, or higher than the reference pitch, an LED 11a on the left, an LED 11b, or an LED 11c on the right, is turned on respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
