MOVING IMAGE FADE DETECTION DEVICE AND FADE DETECTION PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in conventional fade detection devices wherein since only comparing the total luminance value change amount and the inter-screen difference value with threshold α and threshold value β decided in both sides, misdetection results, in a scene having large motion, such as pan wherein a scene of a moving image signal horizontally turns.;SOLUTION: When satisfying conditions that the total luminance value change amount inputted from a total luminance value change amount calculation means 103 is larger than the predetermined threshold α and that the total luminance value change amount is larger than the value obtained by multiplying the inter-screen difference value inputted from an inter-screen difference value calculation means 104 by a prescribed proportionality constant K, a fade decision means 105 decides that this state is a fade state, and decides that it is not in fade state, when these conditions are not satisfied. Accordingly, the fade decision that takes into consideration that larger the total luminance value change amount becomes, the larger the inter-screen difference value is, can be performed to perform high-accuracy fade detection.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
