FUNCTIONAL FOOD USING CORDYCEPS SINENSIS (BERKELEY) SACCARDO, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide functional food using Cordyceps sinensis (Berkeley) Saccardo, producible at relatively low cost, and expected to bring wider effect compared to a conventional product, and to provide a method for producing the functional food. PSOLUTION: This method for producing the functional food comprises (S1) adjusting a suspension of spores of sterile-cultured Isaria japonica IM2001 (FERMP-18253) strain, (S2) inoculating sterile-bred silkworm pupa as a host to the product, (S3) culturing the product in a sterilized condition to obtain Cordyceps sinensis (Berkeley) Saccardo, (S4 and S5) extracting active ingredients followed by milling or (S6) drying the product as it is followed by crushing treating. The method comprises, on the other hand, adding water to Aronia fruits followed by homogenizing with a Waring blender, stirring and extracting the product to obtain Aronia extract, and (S7) crushing treating the powdery product of Cordyceps sinensis (Berkeley) Saccardo and the Aronia extract followed by mixing with each other as first and second components, (S8) adding appropriate sugar to the product, and (S9) obtaining the functional food.
