PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a method by which an ampholiytic resin can be continuously polymerized and manufactured at a low cost, and to provide an apparatus therefor.;SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the ampholytic resin by a continuous mass polymerization includes a process in which a mixture containing a basic radical-polymerizable monomer containing at least one kind of nitrogen atom, an acid radical-polymerizable monomer containing at least one kind of carboxyl group, and a monomer copolymerizable with these monomers, is supplied, from a mixture supply side, into a reaction zone including four polymerization zones which give respective independent mixture temperatures of T1, T2, T3 and T4 while stirring the mixture, and a process in which the respective mixtures are made to continuously pass through respective zones so that the residence time in respective zones are 5 to 20 minutes, and the mixture temperature in respective polymerization zones are made to be within respective specified mixture temperature ranges, and thereby giving a copolymer of which reaction ratio is 85% or higher by one pass through the reaction zone.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
