PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb oxidation catalyst having high activity which oxidizes hydrocarbons, specifically methane, in a combustion exhaust gas even in a low temperature.;SOLUTION: Firstly, catalytic powder having zirconia carrying iridium is prepared, and then is load with a binder so as to form slurry. A fire-resistant base material is coated with the slurry, thus the honeycomb oxidation catalyst having the fire-resistant base material coated with zirconia carrying iridium is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
