PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition comprising two kinds of specific compounds, having remarkable synergistic characteristics with respect to the herbicidal activity and effective for selectively controlling weeds in crop plants such as rice or wheat, especially rice. ;SOLUTION: This selective herbicide composition comprises (A) 1-(2-chloro- phenyl)-4-(N-cyclohexyl-N-ethyl-aminocarbonyl)-1,4-dihydro-5H-tetrazol-5-one of formula I, (B) N-(3,4-dichloro-phenyl)-propanamide (propanil) of formula II in an amount of 0.01-1000 pts.wt. per pt.wt. of the component A, and, if necessary, (C) an extender such as a liquid solvent or a solid carrier, a surfactant such as an emulsifier, a dispersant or a foaming agent, etc. The herbicidal composition may be formulated into a formulation form of a solution, an emulsion, a water-dispersible powder, a suspension, powder, a foam, a coating, granules, a suspended, emulsified and concentrated agent, a natural or synthetic material impregnated with the components A or B, small capsules in a polymer, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
