Hazardous clinical waste, such as used cannulas and scalpel blades, is collected in the installation and its flexible sealing mechanism comprises a ring and barbs for direct introduction into the waste material packaging. Thus, the installation together with the packaging constitutes a sealed collector for storage of clinical hazardous waste. The top of the installation is provided with a stabilizing ring to ensure a correct use of a mould-shaped aperture designed so that used cannulas and scalpel blades can be deposited directly in the collector. To protect users against undesired contact with sharp and pointed waste material, the installation is designed with a collar which on the upper side is provided with universally applicable and comprehensible warning signs and text. To secure the sealing of the packaging, the installation is provided with a neck with four vertical ribs on the inside, securing a tight closure of the packaging.
