It consists of: one or several UMTS cellular base stations. one or more repeaters nearby. one or more remote repeaters. UMTS cellular remote terminals. The cellular station or stations provide UMTS cellular communications services to nearby terminals within its coverage area and will be connected via cable to one or more nearby repeaters. Nearby repeaters communicate with one or several remote repeaters in another of the UMTS bands, via radio. Each remote repeater communicates with a nearby repeater in one of the UMTS bands, with the remote terminals in another of the UMTS bands. The remote terminals communicate with the base station through the repeater system.
