A composition suitable for scavenging oxygen comprising a mixture of: (a) at least one copolymer comprising units de- rivadas of (i) ethylene and (ii) at least one saturated alicyclic vinyl monomer represented by the formula: wherein C represents an alicyclic nonaromatic C6-C12 group ethylenic unsaturated unsubstituted or substituted and the units of said at least one alicyclic vinyl monomer unsaturated are present in 1 to 35 mole percent of said copolymer, said copolymer having long chain branches of 6 or more carbon atoms, a relationship index melt flow (I10 / I2) of at least 8 as measured in accordance with ASTM D-1238 and a polydispersity (Mw / Mn) of at least 1, 5 to 5 ; and (b) a transition metal compound.
