RETRIEVABLE THROUGH TUBING WHIPSTOCK APPARATUS HAVING FLUID-RESPONSIVE PIVOTAL ANCHORING MEMBERS

A one-trip through tubing window milling system that prevents a downhole motorfrom undesirably turning during anchoring of a whipstock is disclosed. Thewhipstock isdelivery with the mill and downhole motor (22) in a downhole assembly whichfurtherincludes MWD equipment for proper whipstock orientation. The entire assemblyis runthrough tubing and the MWD equipment (14) orients the whipstock (28). A motorlock (24)prevents the downhole motor (22) from turning as fluid pressure is applied toproperly anchorthe whipstock below the production tubing. The motor lock (24) is defeated andthe millingcommenced using the downhole motor. At the conclusion of the window milling,the bottomhole assembly, including the mill, is removed and a retrieving tool (86)releases the whipstockfor retrieval through the production tubing (30).
