An electrical generator for extraction of electrical power from a gas turbineengine (10) includes a rotor portion (22) and a stator portion (24) disposedwithin abooster cavity (14) of the gas turbine engine (10). The rotor portion (22) isrotatablysupported about the stator portion (24). The stator portion (24) rigidly issupportedwithin the booster cavity (14). The rotor portion (22) has a plurality ofpolescircumferentially arranged opposite the stator portion (24). The statorportion (24)includes a plurality of coil portions (28) disposed about an outer peripheryof thestator portion (24) adjacent to the stator portion (24). The stator (24) androtorportions (22) are configured to generate electrical power when the rotorportion (22) isrotated about the stator portion (24) by a shaft of the gas turbine engine(10) to induceelectrical currents in the coil portions (28). The electrical generatorextracts electricpower from the turbine engine to supplement primary electrical generationsources ofthe engine (10).
