A stereoscopic video image synthesizing device is provided for synthesizing a left image seen from a view point of the left eye and a right image seen from a view point of the right eye to form a stereoscopic video image. The stereoscopic video image synthesizing device is comprised of a shape calculating unit for calculating shape data from the left and right images, and a shape output unit for providing the shape data calculated by the shape calculating unit to a kinesthetic-and-tactile sense indicating unit. Typically, the shape calculating unit extracts an image of a specific object from each of the left and right images and gives coordinates in a vertical direction to the image in accordance with distance from the outer contour of the object image to generate the shape data of the object.
