Cooling device such as a refrigerator (1) with a management unit (10) for monitoring the stock in the fridge. The management unit has an interface (13) to a data transfer network (2). The management unit is able to determine the actual stock in the fridge and compare it with set stock levels. If the difference lies beneath a threshold value a connection is made to a remote terminal (4) and a requirement list transmitted.
