METHOD FOR SELECTING AN OPTIMISED TYRE CONFIGURATION FOR A ROAD VEHICLE SUCH AS A RACING CAR OR MOTORCYCLE

The invention relates to a method for selecting, among a set of potential configurations, an optimised tyre configuration for a vehicle to be running on a track along a predetermined trajectory in a one-way course (SU) with bends. According to the invention, the method includes the following steps: developing a physical model of the vehicle fitted with a first tyre configuration; simulating the course of the trajectory by the modelled vehicle while optimising the speed of the vehicle; memorising the course duration necessary for the vehicle to cover the trajectory at least once; comparing the course duration with at least one reference duration and generating a comparison resu and selecting or not the first configuration as the optimised configuration according to the comparison result.
