The invention relates to an ignition assembly and a solid fuel-heated furnace comprising at least one ignition device (6) for igniting pieces of combustible (5) or combustible (5) with high ignition temperature, particularly firewood, which is located especially in a combustion chamber (2) of a solid fuel-heated furnace (1). Said ignition arrangement and solid fuel-heated furnace are characterized in that pressing means (7') are provided which maintain the ignition device (6) in permanent contact with the combustible (5), at least during the entire ignition process or until the combustible (5) has ignited.
